2026 OPENING DAY - WHAT A WONDERFUL EVENT

Thank you to all our Volunteers! You really do make MBYC a beautiful place to be. The evidence of so much hard work is clear when we look around the Club~ every day~ thanks to each and every one of you for your time, energy, love and hard work! 

Thank you to all the members and friends who came to the Day~ it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, along with new members and guests as we kicked off another wonderful boating season on the water. 

 On Opening Day we sparkled and shone with the sun in our eyes and  smiles and welcome on your faces for the members, our family, and our guests. I can never say thank you too many times to our Volunteers.

We are also fortunate to have exceptional staff who were all there to support us: Sandy, our Club Administrator, Mike our Dockmaster, up until Opening Day our Bar Supervisor, Karen and  Bartenders Sam , SJ and Becca on her first day. Thank you! 

May I say a special thanks to the Skippers and crews of our boats that saluted the Commodore and received the blessing from Padre McCorriston at the Sail Past. We were so fortunate to have the captains and crews of the Royal Canadian Navy Fleet School Training Vessels  OSPREY an EAGLE as our Opening Day Reviewing Vessels for the Sail Past. The large presence of the Royal Canadian Navy at Opening Day was an honour.

Thank you to the lead organizers : Steve Lake, Ann Fisher, Bruce Durrant, Penny Cameron, Tracy Mills, Denise Bradshaw, Glenn Robinson and William Renyolds.

To be the Commodore of Maple Bay Yacht Club is an extraordinary honour. Thank you for your trust in me and for all your support.
Heres to a safe, enjoyable and memorable season ahead. May your lines stayed tied, your engines start and your docking always look intentional!
