Solar Panels are Ready!

MBYC pays a significant amount to BC Hydro monthly for power; in the winter, the charge can be $5,000-$6,000 for the month.

The Board was made aware of new subsidies and bursaries available to acquiring Solar Panels to decrease our power costs; we would only pay one-half of the regular cost and be able to decrease the cost of power and support the environment.

The Solar Panels are light-weight and have been installed on the Boathouse roofs where the sun is best but the solar energy reduction is applied to the total property, including the Clubhouse.

Installers are waiting for 2 small parts to complete the installation and the Solar Panels will be collecting energy for us by the end of the week!
